Blue House International School

Blue House is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early years education. The approach is an educational philosophy of worldwide acclaim, based on the image of the child as capable, curious and full of potential, as a subject with rights who learns and grows through relationships with others.

At Blue House, our beliefs and values have been shaped by this approach into a unique and inspired educational programme. Our principles and values drive the creation of our emergent curriculum, further supported by children's areas and stages of development.

The Programmes at Blue House

Infant and Toddler Atelier Programme (Adult accompanied)

Age: 6 months to 36 months

Adults are welcomed into the comfortable, curated space and invited to accompany their child through the learning experience, providing a trusting, supportive and powerful presence that encourages a child to engage, take risks, and test their theories.

Transition to the nursery drop off program is known to be much smoother for both children and parents who move from the Atelier as classroom environments, resources and experiences have a sense of familiarity which is a great comfort for young children in the early days of settling.

Preschool Programme (Drop Off)

Age: 18 months to 6 years old

The preschool follows an emergent curriculum that is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach within our unique cultural context of Singapore. Parents can choose a flexible programme with the option of half or full-days. We also offer a series of optional Discover Classes, which are hosted by a range of in-house Specialist Educators offering optional weekly classes in Music, Art and Mandarin.

Meet the parent community

Unger family

“Teachers show up as observers and collaborators rather than directors of play. Every decision is made with a focus on the children. Also, the facility is beautiful and feels like a magical oasis each time I visit.”

– Sebastian and Kristen Unger, parents of Penny and Harper

“We wanted our children to be encouraged and free to be themselves. From the class teachers to the art, Mandarin and music specialists, the teachers get to know the children as individuals and understand what makes them thrive.”

– Adam and Ana Newman, parents of Ayla and Asher

Newman family

Toh Family

“Children are the centre of focus, so the lessons are planned according to their interests. The school has a very nice outdoor environment and I love seeing my children doing water play and sand play. Blue House children typically start their day with close to an hour of outdoor play before moving indoors. The teachers are warm, genuine and caring, and responsive towards parents.”

– Eugene and Eileen Toh, parents of Edison, Elon and Elias

“The school's students are independent and mature for their ages as they know that they're loved. cherished and respected.”

– Fumiko and Takuya Furukawa, parents of Heitaro
